The non-surgical treatment is simply to remove the traumatized, infected, or dead dental pulp. The pulp is replaced with a rubber-like material called gutta pulcher and sealed. Non-surgical root canal treatment can be performed by a general dentist. After numbing the sensitivity of the area the endodontist makes an incision, shaves off the tip of the root or apex, cleans the infected tissue, fills the empty cavities and seals off the tip. This surgery is better known as apicoectomy.

Root canal treatment has a success rate of 85%. This non-surgical procedure is safely performed on incisors and premolars. If the treatment does not get rid of the infection tooth extraction will be the next step.

    It's tough indeed to get root canal done. Pain and bleeding is horrifying and those injections are tragic. Mom suffered from the same issue and got the treatment done from one of the best dentist Hermosa Beach last month. Medicines given were light and now also sittings are going on for cleaning and all. Hope she gets free from this situation soon.

The Cracked Tooth Dilemma The incidence of what we call ‘cracked teeth’ is quite high in Trinidad and Tobago. Cracked teeth present with a variety of symptoms with the most common being extreme pain when chewing. Another common complaint is pain to different temperature extremes.
